Rev. John Haslock

Rev. John Haslock (1781–1846) was born in St. Pancreas, Middlesex England. He was educated at Hoxton Academy in Hoxton, Middlesex. He was ordained in 1810 to serve the Congregational church at Kentish Town. He served this congregation from 1810 to 1844, by which time the church was filled to overflowing. He married to Sarah Ann Lewer in 1803 and had a number of children. His daughter Mary (1816–1892) wrote the hymn “Christian, Work for Jesus.”
