The Cottager's Wife by a Clergyman of the Church of England
A clergyman went to visit a sick woman in his parish and found that she was a Christian believer. Upon return visits he was impressed with the faith she had while living in a simple cottage. “Among this humble class, some of the most striking instances of the power and grace of Christ have been exhibited; and by them have the rich blessings of his Gospel been frequently most highly prized, and most purely enjoyed.” An important verse is: “Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?”—James 2:5.
