Augustus Montague Toplady (1740–1778) is known for his hymn “Rock of Ages,” but he was also a popular preacher and a staunch defender of Calvinism. This biography describes his preaching and his writings. His diary from Dec. 6, 1767 to December 3, 1768, his last will and testament and an elegiac poem on his death are also included.
