Passmore & Alabaster

Joseph Passmore (1823–1895) was born in Penryn, Cornwall, England. He began printing in 1844 in London. He regularly attended the New Park Street Chapel in Southwark. When Spurgeon began his pastorate the two became good friends. Soon he began to print Spurgeon's sermon texts, beginning with January 7th, 1855. Passmore's printing business was joined to Alabaster's publishing business in a partnership that lasted many years.
