Maria Mitchell

Maria Hay Mackenzie Flyter (1820–1907) was the daughter of Rev. Alexander Flyter of Alness, Scotland. She married missionary John Murray Mitchell (1815–1904) in 1842, in Bombay, India. She wrote several books about the missionary experience, including “In Southern India” and “Sixty Years Ago.”
