Daniel Tyerman
Daniel Tyerman (1773–1828) was a minister at a church in Newport, on the Isle of Wight. This is where he met the Dairyman and eventually gave his funeral sermon. After the Isle of Wight, Rev. Tyerman became a missionary with the London Missionary Society. In 1821, he sailed with George Bennet from London and around Cape Horn arriving in Tahiti, remaining three years. In 1824, they went to New Zealand and South Wales. They were imprisoned and almost eaten. They visited many other places including Singapore, Calcutta, and Madagascar.
